Charities can claim back the tax money paid on donations at the standard rate of tax (currently 22%), so we can make your money go further. If you are a UK taxpayer, and will have paid enough income tax and/or capital gains tax in the current tax year to cover the amount we will be claiming back, we can claim 28p for every £1 donated.

Higher rate tax payers can also claim back some of the tax paid on their donation. The higher rate of tax is currently 40%. By completing the relevant section on your tax return form, you can claim the difference of 18%.

I would like the John Muir Birthplace Trust to reclaim the tax I have paid on this donation and on any further donations I may make. I am a UK taxpayer, and my tax bill this year will be more than the tax deducted from this gift.
